We've got your weekend: Flowers, kitchens and arts

Callan Contemporary's (518 Julia Street) "Recent Sculpture" exhibition, by New Orleans based sculptor David Borgerding from 6 - 9 p.m. The exhibition will feature s collection of contemporary, fabricated bronze sculptures that translate expressionist paintings into three dimensions. All Art for Art's Sake programming is free and open to the public. Sunday / Nickel A Dance : Throughout October, locals and visitors of all ages are invited to attend Nickel A Dance, a series of free jazz concerts at various venues in Frenchmen Street each Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. This Sunday's show will be held the The Maison (508 Frenchmen), featuring a performance from Shannon Powell's Traditional All Stars. View the full month's lineup here. Sunday / Cirque de Cuisine : From noon - 4 p.m., the Southern Food and Beverage Museum hosts Cirque de Cuisine, a French Wuarter kitchen and culinary tour. The tour will take guests in to 6 private, historic kitchens, each of which will offer bites from popular local restaurants (including Shaya, Compere Lapin, Cane and Table, Johnny Sanchez, Eat and Salon by Sucre), as well wine. The Tour begins at Tableau restaurant, 616 St. Peter Street where you may obtain your wristband and map and enjoy a special Cirque de Cuisine libation and a tasty bite.
