I don’t want to rush into a decision yet.”Right after she gets back from Europe, Flowers has been invited to attend a camp put on by Ole Miss at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro.After five days at home, she will then head to North Carolina for a camp at Gardner-Webb University, a D-I school.“The Gardner-Webb coach (Leo Sayles) has been very honest with us,” remarked the elder Flowers. “He feels Emma could be a stud at the D-II?level pretty much right away, but it might take her until her junior year to reach that level at D-I.“This trip she is going on will help her as she is getting to play with a much higher level of competition.“As a coach I’m excited for her, but as a mom, I can’t help but worry about the trip.”“I’m going to meet two of the girls in Atlanta and we’re going to fly down to Orlando to meet up with the rest of the team to fly out to Europe,” Emma explained.“It’s not only my first trip (abroad), but I’m going with a group of girls I’ve never met before, so I’m a little nervous, but I’m also very excited to get to go,” she assessed.By the time she gets back and attends the camps she has scheduled, it will be time for the Flowers tandem to get to work preparing for the high school volleyball season, which will tip off in mid-August. She met her husband of 64 years, Earl B. Shaw, Jr. when he was a lieutenant on her father's ship, he also preceded her in death. They moved to Signal Mountain to raise their family and she has remained a resident for seventy years. She had been a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church since 1950, where she held several Women of the Church leadership roles and was a loyal member of the Sanctuary Choir for over 30 years. Gerry volunteered at the Erlanger Hospital Gift Shop and the Erlanger Ronald McDonald Family Room for thirty plus years. She will be fondly remembered for her outgoing personality, active community involvement, and energetic and friendly disposition.
Also predeceasing her was her son, Bryan "Beezy" Shaw.
Survivors include daughters: Sandy Webb (Larry) of Lookout Mountain and Trudy Miller (Warren) of Signal Mountain. Eight grandchildren: Padgett Arnold (Nathan), Erin Burnap (Kenny), Bryan Shaw (Mary), Dustin Miller, David Webb, Beth Florez (Al), Sunny Burden (Brian) and Elsie Shaw. also surviving are eight great-grandchildren.
All services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 12, with a graveside service at The National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. and a Service of the Resurrection at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, 612 James Boulevard at 3 p.m. Visitation will follow this service at the church.

Arline Rose Giolli, 74, of Signal Mountain, died on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at her home.
She was born Aug. 12, 1941, in New York City to the late Arduino and Adelina Amelio.
Her husband, Florio Giolli preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Hilary Mammino of Signal Mountain; son, Andre Mammino of Philadelphia, Pa.; sister, Lorraine Perricelli of Yonkers, N.Y.; and brother, Louis Amelio of Clearwater, Fl.
Services will be private.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
