HMEA art therapy program benefits special needs adults, #artforhmea ...

Donations are needed to continue to purchase supplies, she said. Developmental Specialist Briana Cullen, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, said some of the mediums used in art therapy include paints, fabric, tie dye and canvas. “We use many different items, and the projects are created for all different levels,” Cullen said. “It’s so beneficial because it enhances their lives. They aren’t just sitting around doing nothing, they are busy.” Salaki said the individuals supported by HMEA eagerly await more art projects to get them through what could be another long winter. “Twenty-five dollars would give one person the enjoyment of doing arts and crafts until Spring,” she said.
