Helen Husted

Sharon (Edgar) Hoveln of Rantoul, Janey (Eldon) Huls of Armstrong and Susie (Allan) Schlueter of St. Joseph; son, Rob Husted of Clermont, Fla.; son-in-law, Steve Blackford of West Lafayette, Ind.; sister-in-law, Jayne Husted of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Judy Blackford; and a brother, George Wilson. Helen graduated from Hume High School in 1939, and she later graduated from St. Elizabeth's Nursing School in 1942. She was a member of the Armstrong United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Club for several years. Helen enjoyed flowers, crafts, doing puzzles and going camping. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, and she loved family dinners. She also loved and missed her little dog Benji. According to her wishes, private family services will be held at Blurton Funeral Home with Brian Blackford officiating. Burial will follow the service at Partlow Cemetery in Armstrong. Memorials may be made in Helen's name to Carle Hospice. The family has entrusted Blurton Funeral Home, 400 N. Vermilion St., Potomac, to assist them in honoring Helen's life.
