ONARENA ASHBAUGH

Pittsburgh sports teams. Before her retirement, she was employed at Steiner’s and later at Federal Laboratories, both in Saltsburg. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond “Eugene” Ashbaugh; her son, Larry “Curly” Ashbaugh and his wife, Michelle, of Nowrytown; her daughter, Rena “Genie” Prenni, of Nowrytown; six grandchildren: Erica L. Ashbaugh, of Hermitage; Gina M. Prenni, of Monroeville; and Sara K. Prenni, Lisa R. Prenni, Nicole Davis and Michael Davis, all of Nowrytown; a brother, Glenn “Jerry” Gais, of Nowrytown; and a sister, Katherine Emanuel and her husband, Clarence “Buzz,” of Nowrytown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Paul Gais. The family invites everyone to attend a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore. The Rev. Larry Armstrong will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Rena’s memory to Excela Home Hospice, 134 Industrial Park Road #B, Greensburg, PA 15601.
