Connellsville's Got Talent fills Porter Theatre

In its second year, Connellsville's Got Talent proved a tour de force as it attracted 36 acts and filled the Edwin S. Porter Theatre in the Greater Connellsville Area Community Center Saturday. It proved a night for duos as Connellsville's Got Talent crowned Hanna and Halle Detweiler, who performed a duet to "Not About Angels'' as first-place winners. Second place went to Racel Szabo and Kelly Diamico, who sang "I Dreamed A Dream'' while third place went to Sophie Detwiler and Carlie Lonigro, who danced to "Don't Tell Em.'' Kara Grenell and Tristan Szabo, who performed to "Twistin' the Night Away,'' won the audience choice award. "I'm amazed,'' said Angie Hamman, president of the Edwin S. Porter Theatre Association and a board member of the community center -- the entities that presented the competition. "We had 13 acts the first year.
