Jan M. Widrick

John C. and Mary Ellen Widrick; a sister and her husband, Kristi and David A. Gerdon II of Croghan; a brother, Daryn Widrick of Beaver Falls; her maternal grandmother, Edna Yousey of Lowville; two nephews, David A. Gerdon III, and Dawson Gerdon; a niece, Karissa Gerdon; aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Elmer Yousey; and paternal grandparents Elmer and Ruth Widrick. Jan was born on April 6, 1969 in Lowville, a daughter of John C. and Mary Ellen Yousey Widrick. She graduated from Howard G. Sackett Technical Center and Beaver River Central School in 1987. Jan graduated from JCC in 1989 and then went on to graduate from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1991, with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She began her nursing career in the ICU at Lewis County General Hospital. From 1991 to 2007 Jan worked at the Carthage Area Hospital. It was during this time frame that she took a break and began taking classes at Rosedale Bible College in Rosedale, Ohio. Beginning in 2007, Jan went on to work for Lewis County Public Health. Jan was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society at SUNY Plattsburgh. She was a member of Croghan Mennonite Church, where she was a member of small group Bible study, and also taught Sunday school and AWANA. Jan was active on the Building Fund Committee helping in fund raising efforts. Jan enjoyed the adventures of traveling and visited many places to include Alaska, North and South Carolina, Haiti, the Bahamas, Europe, Switzerland, France and Germany. She also liked to spend her time reading, having movie nights, and spending time with her family and friends. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
