Preceded in death by youngest daughter Judy Domagalla, 2010.A graveside service will be held in Rockford at Rockford Hebrew Cemetery, 819 Cottage Grove Ave., Rockford, Ill. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.  A Visitation and Memorial service will be held in Shullsburg at the Townsend Community Center on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  All are welcome.  You are also encouraged to drop in at the Landau house and share Louie stories with the family.The family is most appreciative of Upland Hills Hospice and their wonderful staff.  Louie was happiest being at home.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Louis E. Klahn, Laura Lorraine

COTTAGE GROVE - Laura Lorraine Klahn, age 82, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 27, 1933, in Wautoma, Wis., the daughter of Fred L. Cox and Viola F. Cox. Laura attended and graduated from Columbus High School in Columbus, Wis. She married Wilbur R. Klahn on March 29, 1952, and together they had two children. Laura was employed as a chemist at Badger Ordnance Ammunitions plant in Baraboo and University of Wisconsin Cancer Research Lab in Madison, co-owned ABC coffee business, was a saleswomen for AAA of Madison, and a realtor for both Badger Reality and Century 21 in Madison. She enjoyed many hobbies, including making crafts, decorating and design, landscaping and gardening, collecting antiques, and raising and selling raspberries. Yuba City, CA, where John established two thriving Credit Bureaus. In 1964 the family moved to Oregon with stops in Cottage Grove and Eugene, finally setting down roots in Bend in 1976.Leona was very devoted to her children and loved each of them equally. She had a deep, abiding Catholic faith, filled with prayer and service. She was a member of St. Francis Church, Catholic Daughters, The Swing Choir and The Altar Society. She was very supportive of the Rosie Bareis Center. Leona loved to; sing, garden, arrange flowers, play cards, bake yummy cookies and cinnamon rolls. She loved music, good food (eaten slowly and gratefully) and trips to Las Vegas. In addition, she loved to entertain and could out­last anyone at a party. Local vendors return to Dane County market

Land of Oo’s welcomes them back as they drop off all the empty jelly jars that customers finished off over the winter, and need replenishments. The Cottage Grove-based business has more than 50 varieties of jam and jellies - including the traditional raspberry, strawberry and blueberry. They also sell the more exotic varieties, like lemon ginger pear jelly - great spread on toast - and red onion jam, a tasty complement to a grilled cheese sandwich. Over the years, the market has grown in popularity. That’s something John Lutz has seen first hand, having started selling vegetables back in the mid-1970s when he was just 13 years old. Today he offers market goers strawberries and corn, grown on his farm in Marshall. Even though it's changed, Lutz still loves the market because it attracts both locals and tourists, who are truly excited to be there. “The market is a great opportunity to meet people and educate them on where their food comes from and how it is grown,” Lutz said. “There’s a connection between people that you don't get when you buy your food from a grocery store, and that gives people a higher appreciation for what they are eating.” The outdoor Dane County Farmer’s Market is held on Saturdays from 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. around the Capitol Square.
