Jan 8, 2016Florence Sheridan
Nan and Lon.
A few years later, the family moved to Crescent City, Calif., where they owned a grocery store and co-owned the first radio station in Brookings, KURY. In 1963, they made a permanent move back to Coos Bay. Florence had been an active member of the North Bend Presbyterian Church, loved to garden and knit and owned many pets over the years. Following Joe’s death in 1990, she lived alone successfully for years. After several falls and hospitalizations and realizing she could no longer live independently, she sold her home and moved into the adult foster home Always There in North Bend, where she had a wonderful team of caregivers for several years. She fought hard to survive her 99 ½ years, hoping to make it to 100…..she was very proud of her age and took every opportunity to let it be known!
Florence is survived by daughter, Nan Sichting and her companion, Ed Blower of Coos Bay; granddaughters, Hillary Rosenfeld of Marion, Va., and Kerry Sichting of Tigard; great-grandsons, Cooper Albright and Max Albright, both of Tigard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sheridan; her parents, Shepard and Genevieve Bock; and son, Lon Sheridan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Coos Bay Chapel, 541-267-3131.
