The Duchess of Cambridge also met garden workers Michaela Giura, 35, from Norwich, and Tobias Davies, 47.
She asked if they were glad to be back - smiling in agreement when they asked if she was too.
"It's good to get a structure and a routine back isn't it?"

Kate's trip to the garden centre was followed by the Duke of Cambridge visiting Smiths the Bakers in King's Lynn's on Friday (19 June).
The Duke of Cambridge joked that his three children have been "attacking the kitchen" during lockdown as he visited the small family run bakery which serves the Queen's Sandringham Estate.
The Duke heard how Smiths the Bakers, which has been trading since 1971, was managing during the pandemic.
Paul Brandon, who runs the bakery business with his wife Teresa, told the duke that he had read that he had done some baking during lockdown.
"I've done a little bit of baking," William said. "The children have been attacking the kitchen and it's just been an explosion of flour and chocolate everywhere. Catherine's been doing quite a bit of baking."

The business ran a home-delivery service while its shop was closed.
William heard how most of the Norfolk bakery's business comes from wholesale, including to schools which closed during lockdown, but is now starting to see customers return to the shop.
"The important thing is that shops like yours can get the footfall back inagain and the High Street and town feel like it's getting a little bit more back
to normal," the Duke said. "Because I think everyone's just been, you know, it's like they've just been in a daze. They don't quite know what to make of it all."
William heard how the bakery's products currently have to be sealed with
plastic film.
"It's a shame because we were doing quite well on the anti-plastic and then
this comes along and we have to protect the food. It's heartbreaking," he
said.

Oct 26, 2018Genes responsible for difference in flower color of snapdragons identified
Barton's group and now Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna, collaborated with molecular geneticists at the John Innes Center in Norwich to investigate the causes of this pattern. Writing in today's edition of PNAS, the scientists report that they identified the genes responsible for flower color difference from DNA sequence data.
"DNA sequencing is becoming cheaper and cheaper. But analyzing sequence data and interpreting the patterns seen is very hard," Nick Barton explains, "In this study, we used sequence data from Antirrhinum plants to locate the individual genes which are responsible for the difference in flower color across the hybrid zone." The researchers compared the genome sequence of 50 snapdragons of each color, and measured how much the sequences diverged between magenta and yellow snapdragon populations. By plotting a statistical measure of divergence between the two populations, they found "islands" in the genome which are more divergent between yellow and magenta snapdragons than the rest of the genome. In the snapdragons, these islands correspond to genes responsible for flower color. The recent paper focuses on two of those genes, which determine the magenta pigment, and are located close together on the genome.
How the sharp difference between yellow and magenta populations is maintained was the subject of the PhD thesis by Tom Ellis in Nick Barton's lab. Through observations both in the field and in experiments at IST Austria, he found that bees prefer to pollinate the most common color flowers in a population: in magenta populations, bees mostly pollinate magenta flowers, in yellow populations, bees mostly pollinate yellow flowers. This selection in favour of the commonest type keeps the hybrid zone sharp, and prevents exchange of genes that are linked to the flower color genes.
In the current study, the researchers wanted to know ...

Mar 2, 2017Valentine's Day celebrations take many forms
Branigan celebrated by making dinner together. The twosome is approaching their year-and-a-half anniversary.Like the Mowrises, Erin Collins of Norwich and her husband, Kevin, tend to mark Feb. 14 with a trip to a restaurant. Parents to two small children, Erin Collins said, “We usually just go out to dinner, which we only do a couple of times a year, so we do try to get it in.”Collins, a chocolate lover, said that, while she enjoys the box of sweets her husband gets her annually, she has had to think creatively where her other half is concerned. “He doesn’t like chocolate,” she said. “But he does like craft beer.” Collins said she will likely go to Price Chopper, where ale enthusiasts can mix-and-match a six-pack of different craft beers. “That way, he gets to try some he might not otherwise pick,” she said. “I’ll stick a heart on that and call it good.”The Collinses have been together 20 years and will mark their tenth wedding anniversary this summer. And, with a 34-year marriage to their credit, Nancy McLean of Sidney said that when it comes to her and husband, Scott, “We don’t do anything. We’re lucky if we remember to buy each other a card.”... (Oneonta Daily Star)
Nov 9, 2016Teenager hanged herself after watching Channel 4 series Flowers
Flowers, a six part series starring Olivia Colman.
McDonald’s staff turn on ‘racist’ customer outside restaurant
The inquest in Norwich heard how the teenager had become ‘upset and emotional’ after watching the series, in which a character tries unsuccessfully to kill himself in the opening scenes.
The ‘highly intelligent’ teenager had a history of depression and had tried to kill herself before, the inquest heard.
Her friend, Hannah Rice, said in a statement the pair had watched the last episode of Flowers together.
She said: ‘At the beginning of the week long series, a character tried to hang himself, but by the end of the week he was happier.
But she added that they had both been left ‘upset and emotional’ by the programme which dealt with ‘issues around suicide and depression’ and had hugged each other before going to bed.
Rebecca was found hanging in her room at Britten House at Gresham’s School when staff went to wake her up at 7.30am on April 30.
Julie Simms, matron, said she hadn’t noticed any difference in Rebecca’s behaviour describing her as ‘a typical teenager who felt life was unfair, but had a sense of humour and would have a laugh.’
The inquest heard how Rebecca had been referred to mental health services from the school’s medical centre.
The 18-year-old, who lived with her mother Patsy Haley in Barking, near Stowmarket, had a history of self-harming and taking medication for depression.
