Marvin Eugene "Gene" Ellis

Marvin Eugene "Gene" Ellis, age 89, of Chickasha, Oklahoma was born the son of William Wirt Ellis and Josephine Hulla Hill Ellis on January 31, 1926 in Chickasha. He died on December 21, 2015 in Chickasha. Private burial was in the Pioneer Cemetery. Gene was born in Chickasha and spent most of his 89 years in this area. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, he joined the Navy at age 17, spending most of his time in the south Pacific. He drove a Higgins boat, landing troops and supplies on the beaches of these Islands. On his last leave home, he married Wanda Crumm on November 26, 1945 a union that lasted over 70 years. After returning from the war, he got an opportunity to go to carpentry school where he learned the trade from top to bottom. He could build a house from floor to roof and everything in between. He built hundreds of homes in his lifetime. He built dozens of Mobile service stations. He also worked several years as a HUD Inspector. Later in life he had a garage door business.
