Firelands is a part of an elite group of hospitals recognized by the American Heart Association. This award signifies more than a commitment to guideline adherence and quality improvement for the STEMI patient population. Achieving a 2019 Mission: Lifeline STEMI award also represents ownership of leading high-quality systems of care among STEMI receiving centers, STEMI referring hospitals, 911 EMS agencies, interfacility transport agencies and other supporting system participants through collaborative efforts, including quality improvement priorities outside the doors of your own facility. Hodges Gardens rose bushes moved to Cypress Bend Park

Roses from Hodges Gardens are replanted at a new memorial garden owned by the Sabine River Authority on Toledo Bend. That’s not to say there was an effort to keep the Gardens open. There were talks between the foundation and Sabine River Authority and also the foundation and Friends group.“These proposals were unsuccessful due to the parties being unable to find common ground on what it would take to operate the Gardens,” the Friends’ Facebook post states. “The foundation has made it clear it ‘has no interest in resuming operation of the Gardens in whole or in part.’”Still, those who cared about the Gardens were interested in a way to save the roses that were a part of drawing thousands to the property. So approximately 180 rose bushes have been relocated from there to a memorial garden at the SRA-owned Cypress Bend Park.“It is a work in progress. Thank you to the SRA for allowing this Memorial Garden to be placed at the Flag Plaza at Cypress Bend Park so that the public may continue to enjoy the beautiful Hodges Gardens roses,” the Sabine Parish Tourist Commission posted on Facebook. The project was made possible through the support of the foundation and a decision by the Friends’ board of directors to establish the A.J. and Nona Trigg Hodges Memorial Rose Garden. +2 Volunteers remove rose bushes that once drew thousands of visitors to the shuttered Hodge Gardens in Sabine Parish. The Friends of Hodges Gardens will dissolve once it spends all of its funds. But the group has nominated Hodges Gardens to the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation’s Most Endangered Places List.“If accepted, this nomination will provide a platform for state and national recognition of the plight of Hodges Gardens. It is our hope that such recognition might bring the financial support and professional expertis...
