Where to take mom for Mother's Day brunch

The Happ Inn (305 Happ Road, Northfield, 847-784-9200): Brunch ($37.95 adults, $14.95 for a special children's menu) runs 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes unlimited appetizers such as shrimp ceviche and a variety of salads, a choice of entree with classic brunch options (including vegetarian) and a dessert buffet. Hub 51 (51 W. Hubbard St., 312-828-0051): The buffet brunch includes brioche French toast and chilaquiles alongside carving, sushi and seafood stations ($45 adults. $18 children 12 and under). Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club (3700 N. Halsted St., 773-525-1111): Kit Kat will soundtrack its ode to mothers with "Mamma Mia!" songs performed live while the film musical airs on projection screens during its four-course brunch ($39.95). Choose from a selection of salads, main courses and desserts, along with mimosas, pink Champagne, sangria and bloody martinis. Mercat a la Planxa (628 S. Michigan Ave., 312-765-0524): The Spanish restaurant offers a prix fixe brunch ($35) with a selection of tapas, brunch fare and desserts, plus moms receive a sangria flight. Nico Osteria (1015 N. Rush St., 312-994-7100): The Italian restaurant's four-course menu ($65) includes a bloody mary or bellini alongside antipasti and main course options that include ramp cappelletti, peppers and eggs or stuffed pappardelle with braised pork. A choice of dessert is also included. Osteria Langhe (2824 W. Armitage Ave., 773-661-1582): From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. a three-course lunch ($40) offers a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert. Selections include vitello tonnato, tagliata or housemade pastas such as plin and tajarin, specialties of the Piedmont region. Osteria Via Stato (620 N. State St., 312-642-8450): From 11 p.m. to 3 p.m., a Mother's Day buffet brunch ($44.95 adults, kids 10 and under are half-price, 5 and under dine free) includes an omelet, antipasti and main course station, which includes such dishes as strata, ciabatta French toast, roasted chicken thighs and creamy polenta with meat ragu. There's also a dessert station. Restaurant Michael (64 Green Bay Road, Winnetka, 847-441-3100): The three-course brunch ($54 adults, $26 children 10 and under) offers five first-course options, including a spring pea duo of truffle "cappuccino" and souffle. The second-course choices range from classic brunch fare to foie-gras-stuffed quail. Dessert is a hot Grand Marnier souffle with chocolate ganache sauce. Roka Akor Old Orchard (4999 Old Orchard Shopping Center, Skokie, 847-329-7650): A three-course sushi and robata brunch ($45) runs 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes a sushi course and options such as prime rib-eye or grilled salmon with ginger teriyaki. A four-course Mother's Day dinner will be $75. Riva Crab House (700 E.
