Khloe Kardashian's 19-year-old Cleveland Florist Continues to Impress

Lynch Design even provided the floral arrangements for a large wedding in Akron. "I can't tell you who that is," Lynch says from his Beachwood studio last week. "But you can look it all up on Instagram." (We did. Seems the wedding was for “Entourage” star, Jerry Ferrara). Running Lynch Designs since 14 (his parents helped him start up the business), Lynch hires employees either in high school or college, no one is over 21. "It's not that I don't trust people over 21," Lynch says. "It's just more fun working with people my own age." Lynch describes his flower style as clean and full with plenty of big statement pieces. And he's always had the drive to make his designs go far. He sent a bouquet of flowers to Kardashian over Christmas, welcoming her to Cleveland, thinking he'd hear nothing more. But the TV star Snapchatted the bouquet and soon her people were reaching out to Lynch, asking for help on the birthday party. Since that experience, the mostly untrained florist says the exposure has brought the company into the spotlight, and they're booked through the end of the summer. Then it's back to college for the young entrepreneur. "Who knows where this will all go, but it’s so rewarding at the end of the day when you’re with everyone, and you pulled it together and you made something," Lynch says. "It’s as full time as it can be right now. It’s my life."...

Kardashians take CLE and boost local teen florist

Lynch.Now at the ripe old age of 18, Lynch is hugely successful, creating floral masterpieces out of his Lynch Designs Studio Beachwood.His clients include Khloe Kardashian.Kardashian is dating Cavs center Tristan Thompson and has been popping up all over social media lately from iconic places in the CLE.Lynch, however, saw an opportunity months ago when he sent flowers to Khloe at Tristan Thompson's home."Just out of the blue, kind of hey! If you need anything we're here. Welcome to Cleveland,” says Lynch.It worked.Khloe gave a video shout out on social media, showing the flowers and saying, “God these are so, so beautiful. Thank you Lynch Design for sending these to me.”"And a few weeks later she needed flowers, so she called us," Lynch smiles.Khloe has been a client since Christmas.She even called on Cleveland's Will Lynch to go all out for Tristan's birthday party in March.Now Tristan himself orders Lynch Design flowers for Khloe. So does sister Kourtney and her boyfriend Scott.Khloe Kardashian is not just Lynch's most famous client, but she is a fan of his as well.A handwritten thank you card to Lynch reads:"Thank you for the beautiful flowers! In search of wildflowers? Chances are there's some great craft beer nearby

From the beachfront trails in Long Beach, where poppies have taken hold (and where you’ll find great beer at Beachwood BBQ or Ballast Point’s waterfront pub), to the rolling hills of the Palos Verdes Peninsula (near the thriving breweries in Torrance, and fan-favorites such as El Segundo Brewing Co. and Redondo Beach’s King Harbor Brewery), to the paths around Griffith Park (convenient to Eagle Rock Brewery, Golden Road Brewing and Brewyard Beer Co.), there is ample opportunity for urban flower hunting. One last favorite recommendation — the sprawling Huntington Library and Gardens in Pasadena is painted with flowers. Black Friday 2016: 7 questions answered heading into the busiest shopping days of the year

Locally, both Beachwood Place Mall and Ohio Station Outlets in Lodi are staying closed for Thanksgiving, although individual stores might open early. Q. But are the deals really worth camping out for? A. Depends on what you think of what's being offered. Retailers try to tempt early shoppers by offering them the biggest discounts on limited quantity big-ticket items, such as appliances, jewelry and flat-screen TVs, and by giving extra goodies to the first ones in line. NerdWallet, a personal finance website out of San Francisco, said that when it compared the promotions from Black Friday 2016 to 2015, it found that many major retailers like JCPenney, Best Buy, and Kohl's do offer lower prices on Thanksgiving and Black Friday than they do the rest of the holiday season.  On the other hand, NerdWallet said, it noticed that at least 32 retailers are repeating at least one Black Friday deal from 2015. Ohio Station Outlets in Lodi is giving the first 200 shoppers at its guest services office at 6 a.m. on Black Friday a $15 gift certificate redeemable at any outlet store. Plus, it is giving away Roku Express streaming media players to the first 100 shoppers with $275 or more in same-day receipts. Q. What kinds of stores do well on Black Friday? A. Foursquare says online and in-store promotions, warmer-than-usual temperatures, and how people feel about the election all factor into shopping decisions, but it expects the number of shoppers hitting big-box stores to increase 5 percent this year. Columbus-based "Big Lots will see the largest spike in the big-box category on Black Friday 2016, and Dollar Tree will be the leaders for the discount category -- with gains that will be even more pronounced closer to Christmas," Foursquare said in a written announcement. Among department stores, it predicts Marshall's, Dillard's and Macy's will see the largest increase in foot traffic. Q. What about Small Business Saturday? A. Mass merchandisers and discount stores with large advertising budgets do have an edge over small retailers on Black Friday, but American Express and local businesses are hoping consumers will still eat and shop locally on Small Business Saturday and beyond. The Merchants of Hudson, which includes more than 90 shops and restaurants, is holding a Celebration of Lights and Caroling from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Black Friday. And the nonprofit Ten Thousand Villages in Cleveland Heights, which sells fair-trade crafts and gifts made by artisans in developing countries, is welcoming a cash mob of local shoppers who have pledged to spend at least $20 each, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 19. Q. What are retailers expecting this holiday shopping season? A. Retailers are always optimistic about holiday spending.
