House of the Week: Flowers engulf this English inspired cottage in Pompey - Syracuse.com

POMPEY, N.Y.- Jay and Stewart Lewis-King had been living in North Syracuse when they first laid eyes on the country home at 3411 Henneberry Rd. in Jamesville. They purchased the home one December when the expansive gardens were just a promise of summer.“We saw pictures of the gardens and as an avid gardener, I knew this was the house for me. It had a greenhouse and I had always wanted one. We had no room for a greenhouse at our home in North Syracuse," Jay said. “When we walked into this house, it just called to us.” The couple didn’t want to live in a development and loved what they saw as a unique home. The three season room is their favorite. They sit in this room and read while being surrounded by windows to view the flowers and watch the birds. In addition to the three walls of windows, there are two skylights and a heater which help to warm the room up if it gets a little chilly. In the winter months however, Stewart said their favorite room is the living room. There is a wood stove which he said makes the whole house toasty and it’s nice to sit...
