Britt said.
The in-patient facility in Ridgeland includes a chapel with windows designed by Andy Young of Pearl River Glass Studio in Jackson. The chapel was named in honor of Fortenberry after he completed his service on the board.
“The chapel represents the religious base of the facility as does the name,” Fortenberry said. “It’s a very pretty setting that can be used for memorial services.”
Community organizations have assisted with updates to the facility, Britt said.

Apr 22, 2016Walter Reed's flower purchases scrutinized in federal court
Covington business owner and a funeral for a political family in Pearl River.
Prosecutors also hammered away at Reed's spending at La Provence restaurant in Big Branch, considered one of the finer restaurants in the New Orleans area. On the witness stand, former restaurant employee Joyce Bates of Hammond said Reed was a regular there, sometimes dining with a girlfriend.
She recounted a Nov. 2014 banquet Reed hosted, costing $5,918.21 A restaurant document noted the event was for Chris Reed, who is a nephew of Walter Reed.
Walter Reed added $600 in gift cards to the tab and paid the $6,518.21 bill with a check from his campaign fund, she said.
Reed's attorney, Richard Simmons Jr., has said Reed was always on the spot as a politician and that shaking hands, meeting people and buying drinks whenever he was out in public was part of holding an elected office.
Under questioning by Simmons, Bates said there were 43 people at one of the events Reed hosted. He bought drinks and visited with his guests, she said.
At the end of the day Thursday, prosecutors began laying the groundwork for their charge that Reed pocketed money from St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington that was intended for the district attorney's office. The mail fraud indictment against Reed says he began attending hospital board meetings in 1994 to advise the board on legal matters and arranged for monthly checks of to be mailed to his office and deposited into his personal bank account. The hospital has been paying $30,000 a year for the legal representation since 2001.
Hospital President and CEO Patti Ellish testified that Reed attended many of the hospital board meetings and that an assistant district attorney usually attended when Reed could not. She said the board adopted numerous annual resolutions over the years naming Walter Reed, District Attorney as the hospital's outside counsel.
In her view, Reed was there as the district attorney, Ellish, testified.
"Not only is it spelled out in the resolutions, in his absence he would send an assistant district attorney. Clearly for me, his office was represented at every board meeting."
Reed has maintained that he was representing the hospital as a private attorney. He resigned as a hospital attorney in 2014.
Ellish will continue testifying Friday.
