Skaneateles Garden Club to bring in spring with 'Floral Magic' featuring designer Nancy Kitchen

Christmas decorations. Membership is not held to the geographical constraints of Skaneateles, as members also live in Syracuse, Auburn, Camillus, Elbridge and Spafford, where Wiegel makes her home and tends her own garden. “It was quite the honor to be asked,” she said of taking over the leadership of the club. She acknowledged she was cautious about joining the club, as it was a big commitment and it seemed serious in nature. But, she soon found the work enjoyable and the members welcoming and engaging. The seriousness comes because they are savvy about gardening, floral composition and entertaining. “Being serious about a passion makes the experience more meaningful,” Weigel said. (Auburn Citizen)

Clara is survived by one sister, Rose Seymour, sisters-in-law Marie Morley, Ellen Bova, Janet Seymour, Mary Ellen Seymour, Barbara Seymour and brother-in-law William Seymour, and many very special nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Louis Seguin and in-laws James, Thomas and David Seymour, William Morley, Thomas and Anna DuPré, Herman Bova, Sylvia Seguin and her son-in-law Gregory Hanna. To date, the nonprofit has served more than 150 youth — young women, young men (Emmaus Place in partnership with Camillus House) and moms and their children at housing in West Grove, the Roads and Life Skills Training in the city of Miami Gardens. Over the years, Casa Valentina has partnered with a wide variety of organizations including: Women’s Fund of Dade County, St. Phillips Episcopal Church, OUR Kids Inc. and National Council of Jewish Women. The organization is now planning its next decade — and is working with Miami-Dade Public Housing and the FIU Cejas School of Architecture to explore the creation of an expanded Casa Valentina Village in West Grove.
