Aug 22, 2019'U-pick' flowers? Couple who met in Alaska open farm where you can pick your own bouquet - York Daily Record
Codorus Township and there are corn fields on both sides of the road.
But work your way down Buffalo Valley Road, over an unnamed stream and around a bend, and suddenly the corn is replaced by flowers.
Row after row of flowers are in the peak of bloom. They are all part of Terra Farms, a U-pick flower farm owned by Loni and Andy Snyder.
The couple moved onto the 35-acre farm at 2605 Buffalo Valley Road almost a year ago from Shrewsbury with the idea of creating a flower farm that would allow people to create their own bouquets and arrangements.
“We tend to call ourselves farmer florists,” said Lori, a North Dakota native. “People can come out here and pick. But I also really loved the florist side of the business, and I wanted to use 100 percent my own flowers instead of buying flowers that have been flown from who knows where.”

Jul 26, 2019Growing Peace and Freedom, One Flower At A Time - Spectrum News

"It brings the community together and builds peace," Toal said. "You have to get along with each other."
There's a butterfly bench and a globe that serves as a thank you to the military.
"It shows that it's international, it's not just here in Batavia," Toal said. "If we can make peace in our little corner of New York, then we can do it across the world."
They already are.
At the end of the garden, 22 flags fly. Each represents a country where a peace garden grows. It connects Batavia to an international trail. The closest one is across Lake Ontario in Canada.
If you drive down West Main Street in Batavia and see these flags— they represent the 22 other countries that have peace gardens. The previous country added to picks the next. pic.twitter.com/nVyORvYVqJ
