Put them together — and combine it with the fact that Sunday, May 8, is Mother's Day — and you have plenty to do to show your maternal unit how much you care for her. From exhibits, to food, to music, to miscellaneous (yet another M), here's a selection of Mother's Day-related activities going on and around Central Jersey: 1 and 2: Exhibits SPECIAL EXHIBITION AND SALE: Saturdays and Sundays, beginning Saturday, May 7, through Sunday, May 15, with a special Mothers & Mimosas Tour, Sunday, May 8, in honor of Mother’s Day, The Jacobus Vanderveer House, 3055 River Road, Bedminster. The entrance to the house is via River Road Park. The Friends of the Jacobus Vanderveer House will host a special exhibition, "John Phillip Osborne:  An American Master," and sale of works by American master painter John Phillip Osborne with the J. M. Stringer Gallery of Fine Art, formerly of Bernardsville and now based in Vero Beach, Florida. The collection includes approximately 30 oil paintings and pen and ink drawings depicting a range of subjects. The exhibition will be open noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Docents will be available for guided tours of the Vanderveer House and informational material about the 1772 Dutch-Colonial home, period rooms and furnishings are available throughout the house. Admi...
