Feb 2, 2016See how flowers brighten a winter day in Bernardsville
BASKING RIDGE — There is nothing like arranging flowers with winter winds howling during a cold snap.
Members of the Bernardsville Garden Club brought flowers for seniors to make a Valentine's Day flower arrangement.
More than two dozen signed up for the free class and, with volunteers helping out, made bright flower decorations.
"We pay for all the supplies so you just have to show up," said Sherry Melnyk, chair of garden therapy group of the garden club.
Red and yellow carnations were mixed with daisy's, mums and a pink heart to make the arrangement bright and cherry.
"I love crafting and its a great group of people," said Connie Kain, who took great care in placing her flowers just right.
"I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep it, or give it to my daughter," Kain added.
