Final summer soiree at the national park is all about ice cream and flowers

Friday Aug. 18, 5:30 p.m.—WOODSTOCK— Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park will holds its last Summer Soiree of the season on Friday, Aug. 18, 5:30-7 p.m. Celebrate summer’s bounty by creating a take-home floral arrangement with flowers from Mary Rockefeller’s cutting garden. Hand-crank ice cream with the folks from Billings Farm & Museum.Bring a picnic and beverages while you enjoy the formal gardens behind the mansion. Billings.The Spokane-based business, Roses & More, Inc., which is the largest floral distributor for the Inland Northwest, has started a new venture called Moon River Couriers, a transportation service that delivers for other clients a wide variety of materials, packages, documents, etc. to destinations within that same service area. The newly formed company has opened a location in Billings at 220 S. 8th Street West, south of Central Avenue, which is holding its grand opening this week.Already involved in the transportation business, in delivering their flowers, plants and floral products from Spokane to points east, it was the return of empty trucks that served as the impetus of the new enterprise, said Bob Hamacher, President and CEO of Roses & More, and now the founder of Moon River Couriers. Hamacher saw that if those trucks could backhaul loads, it would cover transportation costs and they would not only keep costs down for Roses & More, they could establish a whole new revenue stream to sustain a second busine...
