OPRF grad Dallis Flowers excels as two-sport athlete at Robert Morris

His first official start came in the eighth game of the year, a home contest against Lindenwood-Belleville on Oct. 29. He had four tackles and a pass breakup against St. Xavier the week after, and followed that up with three tackles and an interception in a win against St. Ambrose on Nov. 12. The victory clinched the Eagles' first Mid-State Football Association Midwest League title.Flowers has every desire to play both sports through his senior year. The physicality of football helps on the court, and basketball's skilled athleticism assists on the gridiron. Byron Ariola of Eleele; sisters Bobbi Rogelstad of Mesa, Ariz., Stella Begonia of San Jose, Jackie Ariola Munos of Lawai and Clarissa Schraufnagel of Belleville, Ill. and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. with her celebration of life to begin at 3 p.m. The family suggests casual attire and that flowers be omitted. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd. Joseph Michael Polan Joseph Michael Polan of Puhi passed away at home on Jan. 17 at the age of 76. He was born in Lihue on April 7, 1940, and retired from Grove Farm as their construction supervisor. He was preceded in death by his daughter Marciel Polan; brother Andrew Polan; and sister Judi Spencer. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Chisai Polan; daughter Michele Polan; son Michael (Cheryl) Polan; granddaughters Sasha, Shyla, Nicole and Natalie; grandsons DJ and Michael Jr.; great-grandchildren Kingsten, Kazu, Shyli, Austin and Avery; sisters Alice Rowe and Bea Ebinger; brother Tuffy Poe; niece Lani (Aylward) Aranio; nephews Kalei, Sam and Sol Van Gieson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Polan family with arrangements. Jersey's Ben Flowers runs away from field, Panthers advance to sectional

Mater Dei (65), the Shells (98), Columbia (137), the Oilers (150), Trenton Wesclin (172) and New Athens (188) to round out the advancing teams. Belleville Althoff (233), MEL-Madison (238), Breese Central (249), McGivney Catholic (319), Dupo (355) and Marquette Catholic (402) were eliminated as teams, but the Knights did have one runner advance as an individual. James Henseler led the Shells with a 12th-place finish (17:08), with Brandon Isom taking 16th (17:21), Dakota Sumpf 18th (17:25), Cree Stumpf 20th (17:32) and Will Cotter 32nd (18:28) to round out the scoring; Gage Robinette took 56th (19:21) and Jazz Richardson 65th (19:39). For the Oilers, Brendan Springman led the team with a 23rd-place finish (18:02), followed by Jake Roustio in 26th (18:19), Ryne White in 28th (18:22), Chase Wallendorf in 34th (18:30) and Andrew Noack in 39th (18:39) to finish the scoring; Jacob Mustain finished 46th (19:00) and Ausin Brimer took 78th (20:20).
