Clarence Salzer Obituary - ND | The Bismarck Tribune - Legacy.com

After selling the store Clarence and is wife moved to Bismarck where he worked at Sandvigs and several other businesses. Clarence married Bernice Klein on Sept. 4, 1949 at the Ashley Baptist Church. They were blessed with three children. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. Clarence is survived by his sons, Randy (Barb) Salzer, Bismarck; Barry (Rhonda) Salzer, Kalispell, Mont.; and his daughter, Cheryl Salzer, Bismarck; three grandchildren, Tracia (Nick) Deal; Matthew (Krista) Salzer; and Benjamin (Jenny) Salzer, two great-grandchildren, Jack and Ava, one sister, LuElla Blumhardt, sister-in-law Norma Ulmer and numerous nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Raymond, Eugene, John Jr., and his sisters Irene and LaVina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McCabe United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice in Clarence's name. Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg.Mrs. Jones was born in Richmond, Virginia, on July 27, 1949. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Bernice Evelyn Curley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Lawrence and two husbands, Jerry Pannell and Larry Jones.She is survived by three sisters, Rose Mary Collins, Patricia Jones (Donnie), and Judy Turner (Larry). She also leaves behind three children, Mary Dovel (Brad) of Broadway, Rob Hudgins (Dawn) of Barboursville, and Samantha Hudgins (Jimmy Chisholm) of Scottsville; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; an aunt, Ruth Jenkins, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.Through the years Mrs. Jones worked in the hospitality industry and before moving from Charlottesville Virginia. Mrs. Jones was employed as a Unit Secretary at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Campbell Horticultural Society celebrates 90 years with annual flower show and tea

She won first prize for her rose in the miniature, any colour, one spray category, the philodendron category, New Guinea impatiens, and wax begonia. Bernice Lewis, also of Mindemoya, had several winning entries including, cone flower, single bloom, which won the Best of Whole Collection Award under annuals, petunias, African violets, any shade of blue or purple and also the pink category, begonias under house plants, dipladania, also known as trumpet flower, and coleus, outdoor, three or more varieties in one pot. Sandra Strong also won in the cone flower section, this for double blooms.Linda Harper of Evansville won first prizes for her clematis, outdoor potted plant, and floating begonia, no foliage, while Roberta McMullan took home prizes for best snapdragons, hydrangea, listeria, and Best in Class for dahlias and perennials.Wilda Campbell of Mindemoya also won a Best in Class award, this for her orange gladiola. She also placed first for potted begonias, any colour except yellow.Mary White of Providence Bay won first prizes for pansies, coleus, house plant, and potted begonias with two or more plants in a pot while Ann McFarquhar of Sandfield won firsts for her ivy and prayer plants and Alana Lubenkov won for her collection of cacti and succulents.The judges for this 90th celebration of the Campbell Horticultural Society were Christine Liinamaa Osmond and Tina Hansen. The Flower Show Committee consisted of Diane Chmielak, Carol Lang, Carol Lee, Marie Sloss, Sally Blackburn-Sloss, Bev Webster and Mary White.The Society's executive is made up of President Sandra Strong, Secretary Sally Blackburn-Sloss and Treasurer Mary White.
