She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Mika Ory; and her mother and father-in-law, Florence Helen and Earl Schmitt. Visitation will be on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 10 am until time of service at 11:30 am, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO at 1:15 pm. Pastor Terry McKenzie will officiate. Memorials may be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and/or The American Cancer Society.

Kerin A. (Valente) Gibbs. Born in Waltham, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Laura (Hynes) Venuti. Sister of the late Florence Cormier of Waltham, Kay Pantanella of Waltham, Edward Venuti of FL, Thomas Venuti of Waltham. Rainey was a loving wife and mother. Her quick wit, sarcasm and awesome tight hugs will be deeply missed by so many. She loved to knit, sew and cook for family gatherings. She dedicated her life to her family. She is survived by her children, Cosmo P. Valente and his wife Roxanne of Cape Coral, FL, William L. Valente of Bokeelia, FL, Jacklyn M. Brown and her husband Ronald R. Brown of Lakeville, MA, Sharon J. Valente of Merrimack, NH and Larayne H. Boaz and her husband Todd Boaz of Yorba Linda, CA., her son-in-law William Gibbs, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; her siblings Marie G. Maguire of Waltham and Colin Venuti of South Dennis; her very many nieces and nephews and her St. Laurent camp family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to The Hannah B. G. Edith Florence Oliver Edith Florence Oliver 1942 – 2020 CUNDY’S HARBOR – Edith Florence Oliver, 77, of Holbrook Street, died Monday, June 15, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her daughters. Edith was born in Bath on Dec. 23, 1942, the daughter of Ernest William and Florence (Reed) Oliver. Edith spent all of her childhood at Popham Beach. She attended the Small Point Community Church where she participated in youth fellowship and choir. Edith and her parents were committed to serving the Popham Beach community, helping with the Popham Chapel, the historical society, the library, and community programs. During her childhood she participated in Brownies and Girl Scouts. Edith attended Small Point School, West Point and Phippsburg Center Schools and Bath Junior High. Florence Nightingale's beautiful collection of pressed flowers will be displayed at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2020 in a new show garden titled The Florence Nightingale Garden: A Celebration of Modern Nursing. Designed by Robert Myers, the garden will mark the bicentenary of her birth and celebrate the importance of the nursing profession in the 21st century. The garden will depict a courtyard garden for a new hospital and include plants found in Florence Nightingale's extensive pressed flower collection, such as peonies and ferns, alongside other plants with strong healing properties, like rheum (rhubarb), sanguisorba and valerian, which were used in the 19th century and are still used in medicine today.
