Go inside Kids in Crisis series | Rory's Diary
It is emotional. Sad. Intense. Inspiring.
Children are struggling, suffering and dying. Systems designed to support and treat kids are buckling. Fixing that belies simple solutions. And it’s complicated. To help, we broke the series into three chapters and spaced them over weeklong installments in January, February and March.
The first chapter in January is designed to outline the scope of the problem. February’s will cover responses to the crisis in children’s mental health. Then we’re literally taking it to the town square.

Local newspapers will hold a series of 10 town hall meetings to bring together communities for frank and honest discussions about children’s mental health. We’ll talk with experts, advocates, families, survivors. The final chapter of the series is yours. Journalists will take what we learn at the town halls and ask experts and advocates how Wisconsin can stem the crisis — and report back to you in March.
