Quinn tabbed grand marshal for Morristown St. Patrick's Day parade

Irish Heritage, which is traced back to Galway, Ireland. Quinn spent much of his young life in East Hanover and attended Hanover Park High School for three years before his family moved to Florida. After attending art school he eventually returned to New Jersey and found a position at Hewlett Packard. For the last 30 years he has worked in his own business designing, building and furnishing commercial health care industrial and institutional interiors. Quinn also has a history of community service. In 1968 he joined the Morristown Fire Department and held various administrative and line officer positions. He is still a member. After moving to Florham Park, he joined the Florham Park Volunteer Fire Department and held the position of president and line officer positions for many years, including captain. Quinn has been married to Jacquelyn Swetz Quinn for more than 49 years. They are parishioners of St. Vincent’s in Madison and have two children, Brian and Amy. Quinn is now retired. He and his wife enjoy traveling in their motor home sightseeing new places and meeting new people. Memorial Day observances across the suburbs today

Hanover Park Memorial Day Ceremony: 10 a.m. today, at village hall, 2121 W. Lake St. Held at Veterans Memorial Plaza in front of the Municipal Building. Free. Historic Millburn Community Association's annual Memorial Day Service: 2 p.m. today, at the Millburn Cemetery on Millburn Road in Old Mill Creek. You are invited to bring a chair to sit on and flowers to place on veterans' graves after the service. Lemonade and cookies will be served at the conclusion of the event. Free. (847) 828-3737. Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg Memorial Day: 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. today. Memorial observance starts at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial outside the Hoffman Estates Police Department, 411 W. Higgins Road. Guests are invited to go to historic St. Peter Lutheran Church, 202 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, for a 10:45 a.m. ceremony hosted by Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson and Hoffman Estates Mayor Bill McLeod. Following the remembrance, a picnic will be held in the St. Peter picnic grove. Huntley Memorial Day Parade: 11 a.m. today, at the municipal complex, 10987 Main St. Parade proceeds west on Main Street to Woodstock Street, then north for the ceremony at Huntley American Legion Post 673. There will be speakers and a presentation honoring veterans. Island Lake Memorial Day Celebration: 3 p.m. in Veterans Park, 432 W. State Road. Margaret J. Ferrell

Wheaton Ill., Miriam K. Ferrell (Roger Faculak), of Cave Creek Ariz.; two grandchildren, Kimberly S. Ferrell, of Chicago, Jonathan W. Ferrell, of Hanover Park Ill.; beloved cousin, Dot Dodson, of Lebanon; special friends and caregivers, Tony Dematteo, Georgie Vantrease and Brittney Waldron, all of Lebanon. Mrs. Ferrell enjoyed reading and her Sunday school class at First Baptist Church, but her home and family were of greatest importance to her.
