Rose Eickman

Rose Mary Eickman, age 97, of Fonda, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.?? Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 17,  at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Fonda. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements.  Rose Mary Eickman was born May 25, 1919 to Anton and Mary (Richter) Eickman on a farm near Halbur. In 1935, she relocated to a farm east of Fonda with her father, two sisters, and two brothers. In 1946, she moved into Fonda where she lived until she moved to Wel-Life Assisted Living at Alta in March 2013. For a number of years, Rose did domestic work and babysitting for others in Fonda.  Then she spent thirty years as an employee at the Fonda Locker. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and belonged to the Holy Family Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and Legion of Mary Auxiliary.
