Wanda Buck

IOWA CITY — Wanda M. Buck, 83, of Iowa City, formerly of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Windmill Manor Care Center in Coralville, Iowa. Private family services have been held with burial at Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Iowa City Hospice or Eastern Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web at www.gayandciha.com. Wanda Mae Smith was born June 2, 1932, in Santa Rosa, Mo., the daughter of Dolpha and Cova (Searcy) Smith. She married Wayne Buck on July 17, 1948, in Dubuque. The couple raised their family and resided in Maquoketa for many years before moving to Iowa City in 1972. Wanda enjoyed her family; she loved caring for her husband and children and, later, nothing meant more to her than being Grandma! Attending country music concerts was a favorite pastime. She also enjoyed life in the fast lane a bit, especially when it came to drag racing and cheering on her favorite driver, John Force. Her family includes her husban... (Quad City Times)
