Morgan, Joy D.

RAPID CITY Joy D. Morgan, 56, passed away from fighting cancer on Jan. 2, 2016, at her home. Joy was born on July 5, 1959, in Clarinda, IA, to Vernon and Mildred McMullen. Joy grew up in Rapid City and graduated from Stevens High School in 1977. Joy married Breton Morgan on Aug. 23, 1980, in California. They met and lived in Omaha, where their first child, Jason, was born in 1981. They then moved to Rapid City and had their second child, Melissa, born in 1983. She worked at Mini Mart for seven years, followed by a few little jobs before ending up at Rapid Chevrolet Cadillac. She was there for 15 years as a secretary, and then became the new sales title clerk. Survivors include her husband, Breton; son, Jason Morgan of Perryville, AR; daughter, Melissa (Eric) Harris of Rapid City; her parents, Vernon and Mildred McMullen of Rapid City; siblings, Sheryl (Scott) Loux, Mark (Karen) McMullen, and Marvis McMullen, all of Rapid City; and three very special little ones who got to call her Grandma, Hannah and Allie Harris and Brock Morgan, all of Rapid City; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-...
