A Celebration of Life over Ashes will be held on Saturday, October 20th at Kaahumanu Church in Wailuku beginning at 9am with a service to follow at 11:30am. Thomas served on several government commissions throughout his life, including the County of Kauai Planning Commission, the Hawaiian Home Commission and the State Land and Use Commission. Thomas was a former volunteer with the Kauai United Way, Hale Opio, Kauai Ecomonic Opportunity, Na Kupaa O Kuhio and the Boy Scouts of America.He was preceded in death by his parents Dora and Joseph K. Dick Lowry WrightDick Lowry Wright of Kalaheo died peacefully at home on Feb. 23, at the age of 77.He was born in Oklahoma City on June 1, 1939, and a good friend of Bill W. for 44 years.Before retirement, he was pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Elko, Nev. Earlier in Minneapolis, Minn., he was a chemical dependency counselor and headed his own law firm. Carole Sprenger Rivard of Kapaa passed away at home on Jan. 15, 2017, at the age of 84. She was born in Massachusetts on March 13, 1932, and was a dedicated homemaker.
Carole is survived by her husband, Robert Rivard of Kapaa; three sons, Robert (Ann) Rivard of Maryland, Michael Rivard of Kapaa, William Rivard of California; one daughter, Renee (Stan) Richardson of Vermont;5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Causland and Susie Williams; brother, Bill Sprenger.

Helen K. Kure of Kapa’a passed away at the age of 96 on Dec. 26, 2016, at Garden Isle Health Care. She was born on May 5, 1920, in Honolulu, Hawai’i and was a retired sales clerk.
