Jan 8, 2016David V. “Dave” Trumbauer (1940-2015)
JESUP -- David Vernon Trumbauer, 75, of Homosassa, Fla., formerly of Waterloo and Denver, died Thursday, Dec. 10, at Hospice House of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, Fla.
He was born Jan. 12, 1940, at the family home in Jesup, son of Vernon L. and Elsa M. Christy Trumbauer. He graduated from Jesup High School in 1958. He married Diane Alcorn on June 16, 1962, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo.
Dave started working as a draftsman at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works and worked as an engineer and in product development before retiring after more than 30 years of service. After retirement, he supported and assisted his wife in building a doll repair and restoration business which they operated from their home in Homosassa, where they located in 1994. Dave also served in the Iowa National Guard and was a lifelong member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.
