66th Annual Flower Show
To spread awareness regarding flowers and horticultural art and to welcome spring ”66th Annual Flower Show” was organized by Clifton Cantonment Board, Defence Housing Authority and Pakistan Horticulture Society form 23th February 2017 till 26th February 2017 at Sea View Park, Karachi. Horticulturists, Experts, Scientists form every other corner of the country participated in the show. Their floral art had glorified the event.Being regular visitor of the show, I didn’t miss an opportunity to see beauty of nature, peace, love, care and tranquility this year too. Like always when i entered in the floral world i felt like that i am in another world of happiness and peace. Pleasure i got from blossoms is hard to explain in words. Flowers were blossoming with pride and dignified manner everywhere. Blossoms and their fragrances were giving the clear message that Pakistan has to prospers and days are not far when Pakistan would be standing in the ranks of the most peaceful countries of the world. This colorful world filled with multiple fragrances was chanting the slogans of peace and Wind was busy to spread flowers’ message wherever it was going irrespective of its direction. This colorful world reminded me the famous quotation of “GEORGIA O’KEEFE, who” said that,“When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not”I wanted to see them for long and long because it had realized me that how much i love them. Hundreds of flowers with an eye catching horticultural art were waiting specially for urban citizens to have a glance on them at least a once, and this colorful world filled with multiple fragrances had succ...Feb 3, 2016

Saying it with flowers
It is this talent for simple yet varied floral displays that has made her a regular decorator at Tiruchi’s historic St. John’s Church in the Cantonment area, for the past 16 years.
“It’s absolutely God’s grace,” she replies when asked about how she got started.
A native of Kotagiri, in Nilgiris district, after marriage Ms. Tucker was based in Mangalore and Kerala before the family shifted to Tiruchi in 1998.
It took Ms. Tucker some time to adjust to the city’s scorching summer, and as it happened, to discover her own artistic talent for flower arrangement.
“On August 19, 1999, there was a festival of thanksgiving in St. John’s Church,” she recalls. “We were new, and didn’t know how to participate. Then my husband suggested his Bangalore-based brother could send fresh flowers and we could decorate the church.”
That marked Ms. Tucker’s debut as church decorator, though she admits it was all a little slapdash at first. “We had to borrow vases from congregation members,” she says.
“I didn’t know that you had to moisten the ‘oasis’ sponge before using it, so I just stuck the flowers in and they all fell off,” she smiles at the memory.
Seven years after what she calls ‘God-given training,’ Ms. Tucker decided to offer her services as a wedding venue decorator in August 2004, soon after her daughter’s marriage.
