DUI multiple-time losers:
Child in car when Delaware man stopped for 12th DUI
Driver in fatal pedestrian crash charged with 3rd DUI
Sixth DUI, marijuana lands Millsboro man behind bars
Elsmere man charged with seventh DUI after crash
The Office of Highway Safety revised its 15-year-old Checkpoint Strikeforce effort in July to become more effective, officials added.
"To better allocate our resources, we changed the [Checkpoint Strikeforce] model by conducting multiple statewide checkpoints on select nights," said Jana Simpler, Office of Highway Safety director. "This is helping ensure that impaired drivers are removed from our roadways and everyone arrives to their destination safely."
What are your rights when arriving at a police checkpoint
Here is some information regarding police checkpoints, from findlaw.com
Two previous checkpoints that used the revised model this year yielded 28 drunk driving arrests. July's checkpoints garnered three arrests in New Castle County, one arrest in Kent and seven in Sussex County. September's event yielded seven arrests in New Castle County, four in Kent County and six in Sussex.
