Dodge city, KS where they owned and operated the Bel-Air Motel until they retired. They moved back to Colorado and lived in Battlement Mesa, Glenwood springs and Grand Junction.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Lucylle, brothers Glenn and Elroy and great grandchild Landon. Donald is survived by his daughter Kari Hubin, Sister Shirley Laukala, step daughters Lori (Noel) Crawford, Lana (Jeff) Holub and Linda (Michael) Mansfield. Adopted daughters Nina (Clay) Pettys, Jody Hansen and Thelma (Scott) Fields. Grandchildren Laura (Simon) George, Jennie (James) Bumgardner, Salvatore (Renee) Rocco, Nikolas Rocco, Leah Mansfield, Michaela Mansfield and John (Tina) Crawford, Eight great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Internment ceremony will be held in the Belden cemetery, North Dakota on April 23rd 2016 at 10:00AM. Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado is serving his family.

Luise and Christian Gottlob Ketteman in Flint, Michigan, where she spent her childhood. She died peacefully on January 25, 2016, at her home in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. She is survived by her five children, Dahlgren Ekonomides, Danielle Patrick Milam, Daren P. DuFriend, Todd W. Patrick and Chad K. Patrick; six grandchildren, Sydney A. Patrick, Nicole E. Patrick, Per Erik Milam, Benjamin R. Milam, Sophie C. Milam and Bergen P. Milam; a nephew Christian T. Hultquist and niece Martha L. Fortney. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ellen Marlene Ketteman, and her husband of 61 years, James Karon Patrick. She is celebrated by dear friends and family across the country and the globe, including her other daughters Chris Patrick and Lori Patrick, and sons Costas Ekonomides and Jim “Duffy” DuFriend.
When Lily graduated from Flint Tech High School in 1949, she took one of the first distance education courses with Pan Am Airlines out of Kansas City, Missouri. She worked in communications and flew as a stewardess with Pan Am from 1950 to 1954, flying to Germany, Portugal, France, South Africa and Lebanon from her home in Flushing, Long Island, New York and to the Philippines, Japan, ... Doug married Dede Cogswell February 1969 in Denver. They moved to Glenwood Springs & then to Carbondale.
Doug is survived by his wife Dede and his four children: Staci, Amy, Kristen and Adam; five granddaughters; and one great-grandson. He is also survived by his mother Ethel Miller (91) of Grand Junction and his sisters Susan Carner of Tucson, Az., & Tammi Gardner of Natchez, Ms. Doug is preceded in death by his father, Harold Miller.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016, at 10:00 am at Farnum Holt Mortuary 405 W. 7th St., Glenwood Springs, Co 81601.

Shirley Maye Darien of Basalt, Colorado, passed away at her home on December 27, 2015. Shirley was born in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, on October 28, 1932, the firstborn child of Margaret and Ben Darien. After graduating from Basalt High School she attended Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley (now UNC) where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in education. She went on to receive a Master’s Degree in education from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. She began her teaching career in Santa Maria, California, and later returned to her home state of Colorado. She taught in Grand Junction for a year before accepting a position as a first grade teacher for Re-1, a position she held until her retirement after 34 years in the teaching profession.
She was an accomplished bowler, an avid bridge player, loved arts and crafts, and in later years kept her mind and fingers sharp by playing every challenging game she could find on her iPad. Not only was she a cancer survivor, but for the past 15 years she battled Myasthenia Gravis, a chronic auto immune disease. The fighting spirit s... (Glenwood Springs Post Independent)
