Cansativa Awarded 4-Year German Medical Cannabis Flower Distribution Contract - New Cannabis Ventures
By winning the contract, Cansativa will coordinate the central distribution of cannabis flowers grown by Aurora, Aphria and Demecan in Germany on behalf of the Cannabis Agency. The contract with the BfArM will run for four years with a total volume of up to 10.4 tons.
Cansativa has been importing and distributing medical cannabis to a large number of German pharmacies for over two years. The German market is the largest and fastest growing market for medical cannabis in Europe. With a comprehensive multi-brand portfolio of products from leading international manufacturers such as Aurora, Bedrocan, Tweed and Tilray, Cansativa has developed into an independent “one-stop shop” to become a specialised wholesaler and a single-point-of-contact for medical cannabis in the German market.
“We are pleased to be able to use the experience we have gained from our previous business activities for the BfArM now as well. With our comprehensive product portfolio, we will act nationally and internationally as an independent wholesale partner and aim to further professionalise the market. Our goal is to strengthen Cansativa as a central platform for the purchase and distribution of medical cannabis,” explains Benedikt Sons, co-founder and CEO of Cansativa.
Cansativa is considered a pioneer in the industry and works continuously to improve the supply of medical cannabis.
About Cansativa GmbH
Founded in 2017, Cansativa is a GMP-certified pharmaceutical company and holds a GDP pharmaceutical wholesale license to trade in controlled substances. From its headquarter in Moerfelden-Walldorf, Germany, Cansativa and its subsidiaries work to professionalize the medical cannabis market, eliminate stigmatization and to permanently reduce prices for patients. As an owner-managed company, our growth target is linked to a long-term vision – we want to set industry-wide benchmarks.
Since the very beginning, Cansativa has operated its own distribution and fulfillment center, and as one of its industry’s “first movers”, it has become one of the largest independent manufacturers, importers, and distributors of medical cannabis in Germany. From its location in Mörfelden-Walldorf, the company supplies pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers throughout Germany. Cansativa is uniquely positioned as „one-stop shop“ with a comprehensive multi-brand portfolio in the German market and secures the supply of medical cannabis pharmaceutical... Mar 19, 2020
AURORA OUTLIER: Southlands blooming among an industry of fading flowers - Sentinel Colorado
Sephora, which will fill the vacant space, March 7, 2020.Photo by Philip B. Poston/Sentinel ColoradoAURORA Outside of the brewing COVID-19 crisis, malls are closing. Shopping centers nationwide are struggling to attract patrons and keep businesses. Retail is suffering.
Not at Southlands in Aurora, center officials say.
Local economic boosters say Southlands, one of the largest shopping centers in the state, appears to be bucking the trends.
Southlands Shopping Center recently signed three new stores for its 1.7 million square-foot shopping complex in South Aurora: Open this month is Anthony Vince Nail Spa, a mani-pedi chain with two other locations in Colorado. Beauty giant Sephora will open a Southlands location in June followed by Five Below, a discount store, in July.
Located near the intersection of E-470 and South Smoky Hill Road, the outdoor shopping center now boasts about 150 businesses including Petco, Bed, Bath & Beyond, an AMC movie theater and bars and restaurants.
Southlands management highlighted the addition of Five Below, which will be leasing a 10,000 square-foot space.

Kids plant flowers in Troy
Hands Cleaning Service, Brunswick Esthetics, Brasi Media, Lewis Lawn Care & Masonry, Hewitt’s Garden Center, Bickford Landscaping, The Aurora Foundation, Corey Jamison Consulting and XperienceU Training and Leadership Development helped supply the program with materials for the project.
“I really wanted to do something fun and hands on with the kids at the center,” said Domenica Hotte, who initiated the project. “Ray [Piscitelli, executive director] and the Catholic Youth Organization do so much for the kids in the community and I felt like this was a small way of giving back and at the same time beautifying downtown Troy.”
In the future, Troy Youth Association plans to use the new flower bed each year, and possibly even add another one.
More information about Troy Youth Association and its programs is available online at troycyo.com or by calling the center at (518) 274-2630.

The Commons: Beautiful flowers and... kale?
The Aurora Triangle, just off the Commons has yellow Marigolds, purple Salvia and Nepeta; the State Triangle, just down the way, a mix of Zinnias, sunflowers and various types of shrubbery. For 15 years, their mission was purely aesthetic and for the most part, still is. But this year, they decided to do something a little different. In the summer of 2016 the kale was, for the most part, an edible joke. However, there was a teachable moment sort of inherent in the joke: people could pluck a leaf from this garden on the Commons and, if they chose to do so, eat it. The thought was, by offering free kale, the Beautification Brigade could offer a teaching moment through people’s stomachs; that urban horticulture could be viable and delicious. Except they didn’t promote it and the idea never caught on. So this year, the group decided to put their land to use as a source of greens for the local Loaves and Fishes.
Kale on the Commons. With limited space to work with (and their funding coming from the hotel tax, which is meant to fund various tourism applications) the idea of donated food being farmed and cultivated on the city’s sidewalks and planters is still a long way off: the plantings need to be aesthetically pleasing, after all, and the volume of their harvest needed to make the planting program a real pillar for local kitchens seems somewhat unsustainable at best: so far, the only edibles to make the cut have been ornamental squash in their garden by Purity Ice Cream and some winter squash, planted late in the season. But the program has potential and, recognizing their role in the community, the Beautification Brigade is making strides to up their ambitions. Just last month, their associates at CCE – not the brigade itself – cut the ribbon on the Esty Street Community Garden, a partnership CCE had forged along with Greenstar and CFCU to bring even more freshly grown vegetables to Loaves and Fishes. They are currently working on a new sponsorship program, to allow even more businesses to sponsor their plantings (at a special fee of course) in different areas of the city, giving the group more funding to try new things. They’ve found their first takers already, working with NYSEG on a new planting by Islan... (ithaca.com)Jun 29, 2017
