They had two sons Dino Marciano De La Cruz and Joseph Emilio De La Cruz who were HIS world.
Nick went to work for the Lee Bros. at Lincoln Market in Lemoore for seventeen years. Then he worked for Save Mart in Lemoore.
In 1980 he went in business for himself. He had a convenience store called, “Buy-N-Split Market” which sold gas, fishing tackle and bait. He was the only one in Kings County who had live bait. He retired in 1999.
Nick was an avid San Francisco Giant, 49er, Hanford High Bull pups fan and bowler. He bowled two Senior Leagues at Kings County Bowl. He also belonged to a Senior Coffee group that met at McDonalds three mornings a week. He so enjoyed visiting with his friends. He volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul and Hacienda Convalescent Home, which he and his dog “Coco” visited weekly. He was a member of BPOE Elks Lodge #1259 and a Life member of V.F.W. and Cal Vet.
Nick was preceded in death by mother Victoria, Father Marciano, brothers Salvador, Charlie, Michael and sister Mary Banegas brother-in-law Dodo.
Nick will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gloria of 57 years, His son Dino De La Cruz and wife Dora and granddaughter Lauren, son Joey De La Cruz and wife Doreen and granddaughters Samantha, Sesilee, Brother Joseph Amando De La Cruz. Sister Inez Banegas husband Paul, Uncle Gene Raineri, Brother-in-law Ronald Gonzales wife Cherry of Walla Walla Washington and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Family meant everything to Nick; he was an exceptional loving devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Nick was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where he attended daily mass. He also served at Adoration at Saint Brigid’s Chapel for 10 years. He was a strong believer and always felt he was in the Lords hands.
Rosary service will be Thursday February 4th at 6:30 pm and mass will be on Friday February 5th at 10 am. Both will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hanford. The graveside service will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
