In spring, before new growth begins, prune vigorously, removing thin, weak canes and reducing height to 12 inches or less.Modern roses bloom best on vigorous new growth stimulated by pruning, rather than old, woody canes allowed to remain.
Oct 12, 2018Royal wedding: First glimpse of beautiful flowers gives hint of Eugenie's colour scheme
PA)The couple have kept several details private, but have now revealed exclusive news about their wedding cake, which will be crafted by Sophie Cabot.Eugenie, who is ninth in line to the throne, has opted for a unique cake flavour inspired by the autumn months, which ties in nicely with her wedding date.Sophie Cabot, who is based in Fulham in West London, has been creating detailed sugar flowers and foliage in the last few months to decorate the five tiers of the cake.Ms Cabot was invited by the office of Eugenie's father, the Duke of York, to meet the couple and discuss their wedding cake in early July, after she made decorated bespoke biscuits to one of Prince Andrew's events.A tree has fallen over outside the entrance (Image: PA)She said: "The couple were very relaxed, very comfortable. I got the feeling the cake was something they were very excited about."It was fun meeting as well because I don't think it's every day you have a meeting about cake and you get to try cake."The Royal Family have also announced Alex Bramall will be the official photographer at their Wedding. The British photographer will take the official photographs at Windsor Castle following the Wedding Service. He previously photographed Princess Eugenie for Harper's Bazaar US in 2016.

Oct 5, 2016Harvard hasn't had a strike in more than 30 years until today
Because of the labor action, only some dining halls opened Wednesday for breakfast. Cabot House, Dunster House, and Kirkland House dining halls will be closed, according to a memo from dean of students Katherine O’Dair. Eleven other dining locations remain open, according to Harvard’s food services Web page.
Harvard administrators say they have a contingency plan to ensure all students are fed. The school urged students to check the dining services site for updates during the strike. Food service workers have reported seeing an increase in stockpiles of frozen food in the dining halls, union officials said.
DeLuzuriaga, the school’s spokeswoman, said the dining halls are being staffed by managers. “And there are some student run facilities,” she said.
Jeff Stark, a cook at Harvard for five years, said workers prepped food Tuesday night ahead of the work stoppage. Stark spoke as he marched in protest Wednesday morning.
Students were seen entering Annenberg Hall after it opened for breakfast Wednesday. On Facebook, the Student Labor Action Movement said undergraduates should not “feel bad about getting food in the dining halls.”
“Instead, you should use your meal plan to support workers by eating in d-halls and taking your food to the picket line to share with workers,” the group posted Tuesday night.
About 25,000 meals are served each day across Harvard’s dining halls, deLuzuriaga said. Meal plans are mandatory for undergraduates at Harvard, and tuition, fees, room, and board cost students about $63,025 in the 2016-2017 school year, before accounting for any financial aid. Harvard’s $37.5 billion endowment, which funds about one-third of the school’s operating revenue, is the biggest in the higher education world.
