JAMES "JIM" L. HENDERSON, 78, of Mabelvale, went to be with our Lord on March 31, 2021, in Little Rock. Jim was born in Beebe, Ark., on June 4, 1942, the son of Vernon and Eva Henderson. He served our country in the United States Army. He married Wanda Sue (Lewis) Henderson on May 6, 1966, and they shared 54 years of marriage. Jim worked until retirement as a locomotive engineer for Union Pacific Railroad. In his free time, he loved spending time with his beloved family and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a member of Park Place Baptist church in Bryant. Jim leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Wanda Sue Henderson, his daughter Sheila Head and husband Donny of Little Rock, his grandchildren Nicole Anderson and her husband Joseph of Little Rock, Brandon Head and his wife Jordin of Perryville, great-grandchildren Lilianna Gonzalez and Riggs Head, three sisters Betty Henderson, Vangalee Brown, and Rita Hardin and her husband Clifford, all of Searcy. Sonya M. Ambrose of South Bethany, Del., died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del. She was born in Mahanoy, Pa., the youngest daughter among the eight children of the late Very Rev. Basil J. Macknik and Mary (Tokay) Macknik.Ambrose retired from work as an executive secretary at Hercules. She was a loving aunt who always found time for her nieces and nephews when they sought her out, which was often. She was known for her sharp-witted sense of humor and thoughtful, practical advice. Ambrose was always fun to be around and hosted many wonderful parties for family and friends.
In her youth, she was a beautiful and talented Ukrainian folk-dancer. She will be remembered for her love of music, fine gourmet cooking and elegant gardening at her beloved South Bethany beach house, and as her husband's faithful traveling, boating and fishing companion.
In addition to her parents, Ambrose was preceded in death by her brothers Tom and Ted, and her sisters, Ann, Olaine, Mary and Evelyn.
