Arts and Flowers Garden Club holds Dec. meeting

Feed My Sheep. Jodi Meyer, president of the Garden Club of Indiana, installed the officers for 2016-2017: Sheila O’Maley – president; Barb Fyffe-Risch – vice president; Tunia McClure – secretary; and Chris Seal – treasurer. Linda Cornelius, outgoing president, thanked all club members for their support during the past two years. She said the Second Garden Expo will be held Feb. 27 at the Community Building. She reported that several of the club projects, such as Team Up to Clean Up, the Blue Star Memorial Market, and assisting Rotary with landscaping at the DAR marker, have been submitted for Garden Club awards. Sheila O’Maley, incoming president, also spoke to the group and is looking forward to all the projects that the Garden Club is involved with and supports. She thanked Cornelius for her service to the club. For entertainment, Santa’s elves, Sheila Morris and Liz Chambers, performed a very memorable version of The 12 Days of Christmas. Garden Club member Missy Healy-McDonald, created two do-it-yourself Christmas gift baskets for the group, using items she has picked up at thrift shops or consignment shops, and greenery, dried flowers, and seeds from her garden. She created a wine basket and a coffee basket. These gift baskets were then presented by Becky Kremp and Jennie Richardson who were so instrumental in the launching of Team Up to Clean Up.
