A heart of flowers in the centre of Syntagma Square - Greek City Times

Friendship and Flowers - The Post

F rontman Dave Lawrence of Ready Aim Flowers, an Athens-based, adventure pop band, describes his writing process as “some poetry put to a slightly edgy nursery rhyme melody.” He knows he can change the world with it, too. “I don’t know what else to call it,” Lawrence, the band’s main lyricist, said after his bandmates, Caleb Cole, Jeff Podolski and Steven Rekstad, burst into a fit of laughter as he distilled the band’s vibe to its essence. “And so then, I tend to take the bare-bone skeleton idea or concept, and then these guys make it good.” Lawrence said he met Rekstad while they were playing ultimate frisbee, and they discovered they both possessed the same passion for music. Soon, they were hanging up flyers around Athens, but it didn’t amount to anything. Rekstad, however, met Cole while they were rock climbing. Flowers, finches and farmington - Newton Daily News

Croton. There’s a quaint Civil War display at Croton that represents the furthest north cannon balls were fired from across the river at Athens, Mo. We picnic lunched along the Des Moines River then headed back to Farmington. While we were loading the gator onto the trailer, a lady came up and invited us to a barbecue and music shindig Farmington was putting on that evening. However, it was still early and it would be a long wait until the event started. Then another lady came up and extended the same invitation. No, we didn’t need to bring anything, just ourselves, there was plenty for all. Hmm. We could relax on the front porch of Porch Time B & B nearby, and wait until evening. Which we did. Elizabeth and David Collins, owners of the B & B, even gave us a tour. How nice. We found some chips and dip at the nearby Casey’s and joined the gathering for food, fun and Farmington friendliness. The desserts were to die for. I ate just to the point before hurt’n. (I’m getting wiser in my old age.) The music from The Band With No Name (I’m not kidding) was wonderful.
