June K. Albers, 81, retired bankruptcy specialist with the IRS

K. Albers, of Columbia, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016. She was 81. Born in Summerville, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Hood Knight and Tealey Purvis Knight. She was a charter member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church Parish. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service as a bankruptcy specialist. And was a member of the Knights of Columbus Axillary. She is survived by husband of 61 years, Joseph A. Albers; children Joseph A. Albers, Jr. (Anna) of Blythewood, Paula A. Munn (Darrell) of Camden and Gregory Thomas Albers of Columbia; grandchildren Gabrielle Hayes Munn, Justin Blake Munn (Saskia), Gregory Thomas Albers Jr. and Morgan Elizabeth Albers; great-grandchild, Kaidan Blake Munn; sister, Imogene K. Purvis of Florence. A Mass of Requiem will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church at 120 Marydale Lane in Columbia, with burial to follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens at 5400 Bush River Road in Columbia. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb, 4, 2016, followed by visitation until 8 p.m. at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home at 5400 Bush River Road in Columbia.
