Jonesville, Mich. in 1955. He went on to serve his country in the United States Navy.He met and married Mary Lou Thrift, of Nahunta, in Waycross in 1959. He graduated from Michigan State University and worked for years as an Instrumentation Engineer for the Kodak Company in Rochester, N.Y. He was active in the Instrument Society of America.He is survived by one son, Kenneth B. Drayton, of Nahunta; six grandchildren, Robert Shane Drayton, of Atlanta, Courtney Drayton, of Nahunta, Kailee Drayton Rowell (husband, Caleb), of Nahunta, Justin Drayton, of Nahunta, Amanda Drayton, of Rochester, N.Y., Mary Jayne Drayton, of Rochester, N.Y.; one great-grandson, Lennox Drayton, of Karlsruhe, Germany; one brother, Karl Drayton (wife, Nancy), of Clarkston, Mich.; two sisters, Karen Drayton Trueman (husband, Robert), of Inman, S.C., Suzanne Drayton Wade Mercer (husband, Robert), of Columbus; a daughter-in-law, Lori Drayton, of Rochester, N.Y.; and numerous other relatives.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Jean Drayton, of Rochester, N.Y., his son, Gregory Drayton, of Rochester, N.Y., his parents, Robert P. and Julia Belle Griffin Drayton, of Waycross, his brother, Keith Drayton, of Antioch, Tenn., and by his wife, Mary Lou, in 2012.The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Bertha Banks will bring words of comfort.Born April 13, 1963 in Homerville, she was oldest child born to the union of Justine Kates Kirksey and the late Joseph Kirksey. She lived most of her life in Ware County.Mary was joined in holy matrimony to Freddy (Joe) Granger whom she loved very much. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.She was a determined and strong willed individual who loved everyone showing no one is beyond the reach of forgiveness. She was a very caring person always willing to help and give a listening ear to those in need who came across her path in life. She had an unconditional love for her children and grandchildren that could not be erased by life’s burdens and issues.Some of the favorite things she enjoyed doing was cooking delicious food for her family and friends, listing to music and watching the Bold and the Beautiful ,the Young and the Restless television shows.Mary departed this life Monday morning (April 11, 2016) at Mayo Clinic... Annie Lou LoydNAHUNTA — Annie Lou Loyd, 96, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday afternoon (April 17, 2016) at the Pierce County Nursing Home, in Blackshear, following an extended illness.She was a native of Brantley County, born in Tarrytown. Her parents were Rufus Deen Riner and Eva Mae Scott Riner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Arnold Loyd Sr., a son, Blake Loyd, three brothers, Lynwood E. Riner, Gerald D. Riner and Ronald D. Riner, and one sister, Evelyn Riner Perkins.She was a homemaker and a member of Nahunta First Baptist Church. She loved gardening and was a member of The Garden Club in Brantley County. She was also an active member in Home Demonstration Club, enjoyed cooking and was a very good seamstress.
